OAI (Appendix E) Overview
First, let’s learn how to complete the Organizational Assessment Instrument (OAI). CMS requires the SO to complete Appendix E to document systems and processes set up for collecting and reporting data that undergoes review during the reporting period.
The OAI (Appendix E) collects the following information:
- Primary points of contact for the SO
- Information on the types of CMS contracts held
- Descriptions and diagrams of the data systems used for each reporting section
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and programming code used to calculate the reporting sections’ data
The DVC examines the information in the OAI (Appendix E) to name and request SO’s documentation to evaluate during the DV review.
